Thailand

We were all excited on our sudden plan to Thailand being a success and an amazing venture.

We landed at the Suvarnabhumi Airport Bangkok, the biggest of its kind in Asia. This huge architectural building spreads about 3-4km wide. It was a pleasant sight for me to see people from different countries, of different race, of different culture etc under one roof.

As we walked out claiming our baggage,we saw Esay, the transport coordinate waiting for us holding a banner bearing our names.

The climate was humid and thus warm. We along with a few others were seated in a taxi and transferred Pattaya. It was an hours drive to there with beautiful sceneries across.

All was well planned and arranged by the travel agent. So no issues when we arrived at the Golden beach Resort, Pattaya. A warm smile by the receptionist was a good way to start off the day. The rooms were neat and comfortable. We quickly freshened up and headed off to the beach. The beach was calm. We could see a lot of motorboats and other water sport activities like parasailing, scooter riding, banana dip etc taking place. One can also hire a scooter for a day but you will have to produce your passport copy.

Evenings are colorful and most happening in Thailand. Every second store is a beer bar. People enjoy their drink with the soothing music playing at the back gound. The city is safe and filled with tourists. We explored the place on our own and learned a lot about the place and the people.

Day 2 was more exciting than expected. We were taken to the Coral island. Thats about 20 min on the motor boat. We went parasailing and also went for sea walk. This was a mind blowing experience. They take you 300 feet underwater to the sea bed. One can touch the Corals, the fishes and other sea animals. An oxygen mask is provided and extreme care is taken by the divers.

The rest of the day was left for ourselves to enjoy the beach and otherwater sport activities.

Back at he hotel, was a massage center. Thailand is known for the best foot and body massage. They being as low as rp 350. We had a good massage and headed back to our room with a relaxed and a refreshed feel.

The next morning we were all packed and set to leave to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. This place is amazing and known for its famous Buddha Temples, technology, gadgets and the best shopping centers.

Thai's are very smiling and sweet people except for the fact they do not know how to speak and understand English. Communication could be a concern but sign language really works :).

As tourism is their main source of revenue this place is tourist friendly. I mean friendly in terms of having an ATM at every corner of the road, easy commuting, good food, public booths etc. The city is well planned and with neat roads with N number of flyovers. In between all these, Bangkok helped me not to forget Bangalore by having huge traffic jams. hehehehe. The taxis are in Red, Blue, Pink, yellow and Green and each colour means different rates and different meters. So do watch out on this. Also there are auto rickshaw called as Tuk Tuk. Make sure you get into one which has a meter or do bargain the fare. To my surprise I noticed Bhagavan Vishnu being worshiped in Bangkok. Almost every corner of the street has a small temple or an altar where Vishu is worshiped.

The famous place to visit in Bangkok is the Golden temple and the the Reclining Buddha. Its amazing to see these 2 huge structures. One can sense the peace in the air when you enter the temple. The smiling face of Buddha has a lot of facts hidden in it. I found myself blessed to have visited these temples.
The other sight seeing places are the Revolving restaurant, Floating Market, the elephant Zoo, the Canal and the Safari. One can also try going in the sky train.

Revolving restaurant is the Bayoke Sky Hotel. This is the tallest building of Bangkok and do visit the hotel in the night to have a good look at the entire city lit with colorful lights. This is on the 85th floor.

Floating market is about 150km from Bangkok. Here they sell the goods on small boats. This shows us the other side of the poverty of the country. But a good place to visit and also to know how people tend to lead their lives on just boats.

The Elephant and the Crocodile zoo is a good place for children. They have the Elephant and the Crocodile show which is quite entertaining.

The Safari and the Carnal is worth a watch.

As a whole Bangkok and Pattaya are 2 good travel destinations for people who want to relax and have a fun vacation.

We also enjoyed our trip and returned back home with a relaxed and a peaceful mind.
